PRIVATE EQUITY PORTFOLIO OPERATIONS MANAGER

Job Summary:
The firm is seeking an experienced strategy and business operations Manager to join the Portfolio Operations Group at CCA. The Portfolio Operations team is primarily responsible for driving value creation initiatives at the firm’s portfolio companies ensuring the investments, and ultimately the Fund meets or exceed targeted returns. The successful candidate will also be responsible for monitoring, reporting and analysis of portfolio company financial and operational results, including Environmental, Social and Governance issues.

Job Description:
(Roles, responsibilities & reporting lines)

  • Provide operational support and strategic expertise to the firm’s portfolio companies across the entire investment lifecycle. This will require the candidate to:
    − Work in close cooperation with the CCA investment team and in particular the portfolio company senior management to develop robust 3-5 year value creation plans and priority initiatives
    − Identify and monitor key performance indicators (KPI), and drive operational improvement initiatives at the firm’s portfolio companies. This may involve spending extended periods at portfolio company offices
    − Help develop financial and operational reporting templates while leading weekly and monthly internal and external portfolio performance reviews
    − Lead the design and roll out of global best practices across the firm’s portfolio companies including operational and compliance policies and processes, and ensure adherence to these processes
    − Work closely with investment team to lead operational due diligence and other workstreams as necessary on new / pipeline transactions
    − Drive ESG agenda for the Fund and all portfolio investments
    − Provide support on other assigned transactions and strategic issues as may be required
    − Assist in managing the recruitment process of key management at portfolios companies

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum Second-Class Upper Degree from a top tier University. Degree in a quantitative field of study (i.e. Computer Science, Finance, Mathematics, Economics) preferred
  • 4-6 years work experience at a top-tier management consultancy firm, investment bank or in a business operations role at a blue-chip company
  • The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of Nigeria/Sub-Saharan Africa experience with exposure to projects from a diverse set of industries
  • Successful candidate must demonstrate the following skills:
    − Superior analytical reasoning, project management and problem-solving skills
    − Strong written & verbal communication skills and experience presenting quantitative analysis
    − Eagerness to learn the entire process and understand the big picture
    − Ability to deal with ambiguity and bring structure to complex questions with limited guidance
